Single handle shower faucet american standard?
The single handle faucet will not stay on. There is a set screw that is supposed to hold it on there but it never catches. There is a plastic bushing inside the handle, but the lip on it is cracked. It doesn't seem to be affecting the set screw area. Now I had the handle securly attached, however the range of motion was limited and it would take up to 15 seconds of me holding the diverter for enough pressure to build up so the shower would kick on. Anyt thoughts on whether or not i can buy a replacement piece or set that is counter sunk or what not? My goal after all this rambling is to have regular water pressure and a handle that stays on.

buying a new faucet is probably your best bet.. unfortunately this may require you to but the other trims for matching purposes.. either way they are fairly inexpensive.. installing it may be costly unless you do it yourself.. if your good with a torch then you shouldnt have a problem.
